Enhancing Your Club Experience

If you are planning to play golf at Sahalee as the guest of a member, please review the following information regarding our Club's golfing guidelines and policies.

Dress Code

The following Dress Code has been adopted by the Board of Directors. The Dress Code is intended to ensure that all members have a pleasant atmosphere in which to enjoy the club’s facilities and services. Compliance with the Dress Code by family and guests is the responsibility of the member. Club management has been empowered to politely deny service or access to club facilities to any member or guest not in compliance with this policy. Members should inform their guests of our Dress Code prior to their arrival. Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action.

Course Etiquette

The USGA Rules of Golf are enforced at all times.
The first group of the day sets the pace of play for the rest of the field. Our goal at Sahalee is to play 18 holes of golf in a maximum time of 4 hours and 10 minutes (or 2 hours and 5 minutes per 9 holes). Thereafter, each group must keep up with the group ahead and not worry about the group behind. If you run into trouble (i.e. a lost ball), please let the group behind you play through.

Remember that when you fall out of position, it is your responsibility to catch up as soon as possible:
  • Suspend honors. Play ready golf.
  • Utilize the continuous putting rule where practical.
  • Continue on to the next tee quickly.
Sahalee's standards regarding all types of golf cars and carts are as follows:
  • Cars and carts shall be kept off all tees and greens.
  • No cars and carts are allowed within 10 yards of any green.
  • No cars and carts are allowed between the bunkers/hazards and greens.
  • Paths provided for golf cars must be used at all times unless the "90 Degree Rule" is in effect. The "90 Degree Rule," when in effect, allows for golf cars to be driven off the path directly across (90-degrees) from your golf ball, driven directly to your ball and then directly back to the path. On all Par 3 holes, golf cars must remain on the path.
To ensure our greens and fairways remain in optimal condition for all golfers, please:
  • Repair all ball marks on the green (yours plus one more).
  • Replace all divots! (Use sand and seed mix if a divot is not recoverable.)
  • Always rake bunkers and leave rakes in the bottom of bunkers with handle facing tee.
The use of "soft spikes" or spikeless shoes is mandatory on all golf areas from May through October.

Cell Phone Policy

Cell phones for the purpose of texting or email is permissible on club property. Cell phones shall be switched to vibration or silence mode while on the property. Discreet use of cell phones is permissible on the golf course only with the expressed permission of your playing partners. Talking on a cell phone is prohibited on the practice facilities, within 50 yards of the clubhouse or in any area within the clubhouse not designated as a phone usage area
